Housing
A building block for the energy transition
Hydrogen plays a key role in the climate-neutral industry of the future. When building the necessary infrastructure, the protection of control electronics is of particular importance. Rose Systemtechnik GmbH equips electrolyzers and pipelines worldwide with explosion-proof housings.
The company from Porta Westfalica in North Rhine-Westphalia has been producing Ex housing solutions for the chemical and petrochemical as well as the oil and gas industries for decades. All housings for these areas of application comply with the requirements of the ATEX and IECEx directives for Ex zones 1 and 2 in gas explosion protection and for zones 21 and 22 in dust explosion protection. In addition, the Ex housings are approved for use in the USA (UL), Great Britain (UKCA), Brazil (INMETRO), South Africa (Explolabs) and China (CCC), for example.
Rose Systemtechnik manufactures its explosion-proof housing systems from aluminum, polyester and stainless steel. Depending on the application and area of use, the housings are available with different protection concepts (ignition protection types). The range of designs extends from intrinsically safe variants (Ex i) to the pressure-encapsulated housings (Ex d) of the EJB, IJB, GUB and TBE series.
Housing systems from Rose Systemtechnik protect the control technology of gas purifiers, gas coolers, gas compressors and water treatment systems in the hydrogen industry, among other things. The ATEX housings are available in various ignition protection types, e.g. in the Ex e, Ex i and Ex d versions. In the housings of the ignition protection types Ex e and Ex i, the components are designed so that no sparks can occur. Housings of the ignition protection type Ex d have a pressure encapsulation: This ensures that an explosion inside the housing cannot spread to the outside. Sparks, flames and hot gases are also cooled down by an ignition protection gap to such an extent that they can no longer ignite a potentially explosive atmosphere in the surrounding area.
Since the Ex d housings already offer a very high level of explosion protection, the use of completely normal components without Ex certification is also permitted inside them. The user can therefore choose from the entire range of automation components available on the market.
