Couplings

Loewe GK linear coupling brings smooth operation to automatic door systems.

The taxi pulls up; we pay our fare quickly but cheerfully, leaving a generous tip, say our usual polite goodbyes, and finally let the passenger door fall into its lock with a gentle push. What was still done manually here changes abruptly as we step into the hotel entrance. The entrance opens invitingly, as if by magic, and allows us to step into the attractively cosy hotel lobby. But they are not only found here; we encounter them everywhere in our daily lives, granting us access – automatically opening and closing sliding door systems. But how do they do it? In most cases, linear actuators provide the necessary thrust, enabling the entrances to open and close. This can range from a few hundred N of axial force up to several thousand N of axial load, for example in cargo doors.

Such thrust tasks are the speciality of the axially rigid Loewe GK Linear linear coupling: precise transmission of pure linear tensile and compressive forces whilst simultaneously compensating for radial and angular misalignments.

In line with the range of required axial forces, the range comprises a total of 5 sizes for maximum axial loads of between 800 N and 13,000 N, depending on the coupling size. The coupling hubs and the inner ring of the cardan coupling are made of lightweight aluminium, ensuring that the coupling is lightweight.
