With the SD4B, Sieb & Meyer presents the optimized successor model to the SD2B plus. The new device variant from the SD4x family has a wide range of talents. The SD4B can be used as a highly dynamic servo amplifier for the operation of rotary and linear low-voltage servo motors as well as for the optimized operation of high-speed low-voltage synchronous and asynchronous motors.

Thanks to its small width of 25 mm, the SD4B requires little installation space, but despite its compact dimensions, it combines a wide range of functionalities in its IP20 housing. The frequency inverter is not only equipped with the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function as standard, but also with interfaces for CANopen and Modbus TCP. A multi-protocol real-time Ethernet interface is available as an option, enabling flexible communication with the higher-level controller via EtherCAT (CoE), Profinet IO and Powerlink. In addition to the TTL encoder input and output, the user also has five digital inputs/outputs and an Ethernet interface for simple parameterization.

In the high-speed range, the SD4B frequency inverter allows sensorless operation of synchronous motors up to 240,000 rpm and asynchronous motors up to 360,000 rpm as well as sensor-based control based on TTL encoders. In this way, several high-speed motors can be operated synchronously in master/slave mode, which is helpful in the field of optical systems, for example. The robust speed control also allows high inertia ratios between motor and tool of up to 1:100.

NRTL/CSA certification of the SD4B has already been applied for, meaning that the devices can be integrated into systems for the US market without additional approvals.
