Minimum size with maximum EMC shielding
EMC cable glands must combine several properties: they should not only reliably dissipate electromagnetic interference fields, but also undesirably high shield currents. In order to be able to use them in limited installation space, compact dimensions are required. A large sealing and shielding area is ideal so that the user only has to stock a few variants to reliably seal the cable diameters used. In addition, the components should be time- and cost-saving as well as safe to assemble.
With the new UNI Dicht TRI, Pflitsch combines the high-quality EMC contacting by TRI spring - known from the blueglobe series - with the compactness and individuality of the UNI Dicht modular system.
This solution is also convincing with its durable, large-area and low-impedance 360° contacting to the cable shield thanks to the patented triangular spring. This results in the highest shielding attenuation values up to the GHz range. Another advantage is the very high current-carrying capacity for reliable discharge of undesirably high shield currents.
Installation is also simple and safe. All the user has to do is remove the cable sheath at the contact point where the shielding braid is to be connected. When the cable is inserted into the cable gland, the TRI spring element ensures reliable shield contacting, even with out-of-round or off-centre cables. In any case, this type of contacting from Pflitsch means that the cable shield does not have to be exposed until directly at the connection point in the control cabinet. Because the shielding braid remains 100% intact, maximum shielding attenuation is achieved and unnecessary coupling of useful signals with interference signals is avoided. The serration between the double nipple and the sealing insert prevents the cable from twisting when the pressure screw is tightened.
For shielded cables from 4.0 mm to 20.5 mm
The UNI Dicht TRI is available in sizes M16 to M25 for cable diameters from 4.0 mm to 20.5 mm. Due to their large sealing areas, wide diameters can be reliably sealed with IP 68. In addition, the enormous shielding area of UNI Dicht TRI ensures a safe EMC connection. In M25, for example, cables from 3 mm to 17 mm can be safely contacted. The large-area sealing in the Pflitsch cable glands prevents constriction of the cable sheath, which makes the installation safe for a long time. The UNI Dicht TRI made of nickel-plated measurement or stainless steel is approved for the temperature range -40 °C to +130 °C with TPE sealing insert and -55 °C to +200 °C with silicone sealing insert.
