Minimum size with maximum EMC shielding
EMC cable glands must combine several properties: They should not only reliably dissipate electromagnetic interference fields, but also undesirably high shielding currents. In order to be able to use them in limited installation space, compact dimensions are required. A large sealing and shielding area is ideal so that the user only needs to stock a few variants in order to reliably seal the cable diameters used. In addition, the components should be time- and cost-saving and safe to install.
With the new UNI Dicht TRI, Pflitsch combines the high-quality EMC contacting using a TRI spring - known from the blueglobe series - with the compactness and individuality of the UNI Dicht modular system.
This solution also impresses with its permanent, large-area and low-resistance 360° contact to the cable shield thanks to the patented triangle spring. This results in the highest shielding attenuation values up to the GHz range. Another plus point is the very high current carrying capacity for the reliable dissipation of undesirably high shielding currents.
Installation is process-safe
Installation is also simple and safe. The user only has to remove the cable sheath at the contact point where the braided shield is to be contacted. As soon as the cable is pushed into the cable gland, the TRI spring element creates a reliable shield contact, even with non-circular or off-center cables. In any case, this type of contact from Pflitsch means that the cable shield only has to be exposed immediately at the connection point in the control cabinet. Because the braided shield remains 100% intact, the maximum shield attenuation is achieved and unnecessary coupling of useful and interference signals is avoided. The interlocking between the double nipple and the sealing insert prevents the cable from twisting when the pressure screw is tightened.
For shielded cables from 4.0 mm to 20.5 mm
The UNI Dicht TRI is available in sizes M16 to M25 for cable diameters from 4.0 mm to 20.5 mm. Due to its large sealing ranges, wide diameters can be reliably sealed with IP 68. In addition, the enormous shielding area of the UNI Dicht TRI ensures a secure EMC connection. In M25, for example, cables from 3 mm to 17 mm can be securely connected. The large-area seal in the Pflitsch cable glands prevents the cable sheath from being constricted, which makes the installation safe and long-lasting. The UNI Dicht TRI made of nickel-plated steel or stainless steel is approved for the temperature range -40 °C to +130 °C with a TPE sealing insert and -55 °C to +200 °C with a silicone sealing insert.
