Safety meets design – new snap locks with recessed grip

What is flat, black and ergonomic? A snap lock that can be harmoniously integrated into (almost) any door, flap or hood and is easy to operate. Heinrich Kipp Werk has recently added two new series for flush installation to its snap lock portfolio, which offer precisely these features. A lockable version is available for additional security.

“Thanks to their simple functionality, our new snap locks are suitable for all applications where doors, flaps or hoods need to be locked quickly and securely,” explains Stefan Frick, Product Manager at Kipp. “The user simply has to press the respective device shut – the snap function then guarantees secure locking.” Made from durable ABS plastic, the products are also easy to install and are particularly space-saving thanks to their flush installation and flat shape with recessed grip. If the application requires access control, a lockable version can be used.

The snap locks are an ideal choice wherever conventional locking mechanisms could open again unintentionally due to sudden movements, shocks or vibrations – such as on the high seas or when abruptly accelerating and braking an ambulance. The practical locking elements are used in the automotive industry, medical technology, mechanical engineering, the motorhome and caravanning sectors and the furniture industry, among others.

Two new product families

The two new product families now complement KIPP's extensive locking technology portfolio. The snap locks from the K2010 series are available in six different sizes for door leaf thicknesses from 1.2 to 2.2 mm. The K2011 series comprises two sizes for door leaf thicknesses of 0.9 to 1.2 mm and 1.3 to 1.6 mm respectively. A lockable version offers additional security. “It goes without saying that all our latches are manufactured in the usual Kipp quality,” emphasizes Stefan Frick. “They are also available from stock immediately and in larger quantities. We are already working on the next innovative products with which we will successively expand our fastening technology portfolio.”
