Magnetic locking for even more precise control

EBE sensors + motion has redesigned its HR100 handwheel for even more precise machine control.

Thanks to the innovative magnetic detent and new HALL sensor technology, the handwheel offers clear advantages over conventional models with ball-spring detent. Production systems and industrial machines, such as CNC machines, are in constant use and must function, otherwise production comes to a standstill. This is where the newly revised HR100 handwheel from EBE sensors + motion impresses.

The handwheel based on Hall sensor technology with 100 detent positions promises an exceptionally long service life compared to conventional systems. While mechanical systems lose precision over time due to wear, the Hall sensor technology in the HR100 handwheel remains precise and reliable over its entire service life. The newly designed magnetic detent is also not subject to mechanical abrasion, which not only increases durability but also reduces maintenance costs.

Likewise, the use of the latest HALL sensor scanning, in contrast to optical or mechanical scanning systems, guarantees consistently good precision of the inputs even under difficult conditions, such as vibrations or shocks. This offers advantages especially in industrial environments, where machines are often exposed to strong environmental influences. The interference immunity of the HALL technology also guarantees consistently high accuracy and reliability in every situation.

Controlled follow-up for fine adjustments

Another unique selling point is the deliberately integrated follow-up. The detent used enables sensitive adjustments to be made on CNC machines thanks to the 100 detents. In situations where a longer travel path is required for exact positioning, the follow-up during rapid rotation allows the operator to move the machine without having to crank the entire path. In contrast, a system with a ball-spring detent immediately stops in the detent position even during rapid rotation. This contributes to even more precise control and optimization of the production process.

Two construction versions for maximum flexibility

The HR100 handwheel from EBE is available in two different construction versions to meet the individual requirements of the user. One version is specially designed for installation in control panels with a selectable locking torque, where precise and reliable control is required directly on the machine interface. The other version has been optimized in terms of weight for use in handheld control devices to ensure flexible and ergonomic handling even in mobile applications. Of course, this version can also be used in thin stationary control panels. Both versions also offer the option of being expanded with various rotary knobs and scales made of sturdy light metal to enable additional adjustments and even greater operating precision.
