Kollmorgen introduces its new PCMM2G programmable motion controller. The highly scalable controller enables easy integration with systems based on the Kollmorgen Automation Suite as well as with third-party drives and motors. The PCMM2G offers new features and significantly increased performance for a wide range of applications - from single machines to complex modular automation systems.

The PCMM2G controller is compatible with Kollmorgen's previous generation PDMM and PCMM controllers. The system offers an easy migration path while enabling greater flexibility and fieldbus cycle rates 1.5 to 3.5 times faster than the PCMM and PDMM. In addition, the new controller supports most third-party automation systems while offering increased performance and ease of use.

Leading performance

The new controller is based on a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor that enables industry-leading cycle times. It is designed to be flexible and support a wide range of applications, from small, simple machine modules to highly complex automation environments with up to 64 axes with synchronized path motions, including S-curve profiles and other complex motions. The controller also features 16 GB of internal flash memory, six digital inputs, two digital outputs, integrated functional safety modules and an integrated human-machine interface.

Seamless integration

The PCMM2G's 100BASE-T ports support UDP, HTTP, Modbus, Ethernet/IP and Profinet for quick integration into most systems. Two Ethernet ports allow system configuration while maintaining connection to an industrial network. An uninterruptible real-time clock with battery backup and support for an external time server via the Network Time Protocol (NTP) ensure precise time control and synchronization across all axes.

For users of Kollmorgen PDMM and PCMM controllers, the PCMM2G offers an easy upgrade path with step-by-step migration assistance. Customers worldwide can count on comprehensive support, both online and on-site.

Easy to use

Plug-and-play capabilities with Kollmorgen Automation Suite and third-party systems ensure easy setup. Integrated tools simplify and speed up network configuration, servo tuning and machine optimization. Support for file management and backup/restore is provided through a USB slot for connecting memory sticks.
