Compact design, maximum performance: The SD4B series drive controllers from Sieb & Meyer are among the most versatile solutions for operating low-voltage drives.

Whether rotary or linear servo motors, high-speed synchronous or asynchronous motors – these devices excel as highly dynamic servo amplifiers as well as frequency converters in a wide variety of high-speed applications. In addition to the existing standard version, a new high-current variant is now available, opening up further application possibilities.

More power in the same slim design

The SD4B series from Sieb & Meyer combines comprehensive functionality with an extremely space-saving IP20 enclosure. Besides the standard version with 10 A @ 80 VDC, Sieb & Meyer now also offers a high-current variant with 13 A @ 48 VDC. Despite the higher rated current, the enclosure volume – including the narrow width of just 25 mm – remains unchanged. This makes the series ideal for applications with limited installation space.

Safe, networkable, and easy to integrate

All models feature the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function as standard. Communication via CANopen and Modbus TCP is standard. A multi-protocol real-time Ethernet interface is available as an option for flexible communication with the higher-level controller via EtherCAT (CoE), PROFINET IO, or POWERLINK. Additionally, a TTL encoder input and output, as well as five digital I/Os, facilitate integration into existing systems. Parameterization is conveniently performed via an Ethernet interface.

Both sensorless and sensor-based control are possible

In the high-speed range, the SD4B frequency converter operates both sensorless and with sensor-based TTL encoders. It supports synchronous motors up to 240,000 rpm and asynchronous motors up to 360,000 rpm. Furthermore, multiple motors can be synchronized with angular precision in master-slave operation – ideal, for example, for optical systems. The robust speed control also allows for high moment of inertia ratios of up to 1:100 between the motor and the tool.

Ready for the global market

With existing NRTL/CSA certification, SD4B series machines can be integrated into US systems without additional approvals. This makes Sieb & Meyer a future-proof solution for globally operating machine and plant manufacturers.
