Linear technology
Linear technology: The key to efficient laboratory automation
Linear technology is an indispensable component of modern laboratory automation. It enables precise movement, positioning, and dosing, making processes reproducible and reliable. Rollon’s customizable linear axes and linear systems combine the highest levels of repeatability and positioning accuracy with a compact, robust, and modular design, as well as low-maintenance operation, thereby significantly increasing efficiency, flexibility, and process quality.
Precision, reliability, low maintenance, compactness, and process reliability are key factors in laboratory automation. As a specialist in linear motion systems, Rollon has a deep understanding of industry-specific requirements and delivers flexible, customized linear motion solutions that ensure highly dynamic motion sequences and reproducible processes—whether in sample handling, pipetting systems, dosing and liquid handling applications, or high-throughput analytics.
H-Bot Gantry System: A Lightweight, Compact, and Efficient Solution
Maximum efficiency with minimal space requirements: The H-Bot gantry system offers a high degree of precision and dynamics and covers a large working range despite its exceptionally compact design. The Cartesian robot is designed for payloads up to 10 kg and features an innovative design with a single-belt concept and dual motors on the X-axis. The absence of a motor on the Y-axis reduces moving masses, which minimizes vibrations and enables high dynamics. Thanks to its versatile configuration and outstanding performance, the H-Bot adapts perfectly to various operating environments and is a powerful solution for modern linear motion requirements. In laboratory automation, the gantry system is used, among other things, for the dosing and dispensing of ingredients in pharmaceutical production.
Clean Room System ONE: Ideal for cleanroom applications
Rollon has developed the Clean Rollon System ONE specifically for cleanroom applications. The modular linear axes are made of aluminum and stainless steel and are designed to prevent particles from entering the environment in which they are installed. Drive is provided by a high-quality polyurethane timing belt with an AT profile. The cleanroom axes ensure precise positioning with high dynamics; they are rust-free, corrosion-resistant, durable, flexible, and low-maintenance, and operate with minimal amounts of lubricant. This ensures a 100% clean application.
Broad linear technology portfolio for laboratory automation
For lower particle emission requirements, additional product lines are available. The self-aligning roller guides of the Compact Rail compensate for parallelism errors in the mounting surfaces as well as height offsets or angular errors between the guides. Curviline consists of roller-based curved guides with constant and variable radii—ideal for non-linear movements. The V-Line and Heavy Line are designed for heavy loads, and the Cross Roller Rails combine precision and rigidity in compact cross-sections. In addition to linear guides and linear axes, ball screws, needle bearings, and spherical heads are essential for the functionality and reliability of many laboratory devices and systems, as they provide precise motion control and extend the service life of the equipment. All solutions are individually designed and precisely tailored to the specific application.
