Maximum productivity, minimum space requirement

Maximum productivity, minimum space requirement

The new Telescopic System TLS from Rollon, a specialist in linear motion systems, is a true space-saving wonder. The 2- and 3-stage systems with combined rack and pinion and toothed belt drive enable large strokes of up to 3,000 mm even in limited installation space, thus significantly expanding the automation spectrum.

The TLS telescopic linear axis system from Rollon is a 2- and 3-stage solution for automation in confined spaces. Thanks to the particularly compact design, long strokes with high loads can be handled even in very limited spaces. This makes the new Telescopic System an ideal solution for applications where the travel path of the axis exceeds the distance between the machine and the ceiling or wall.

Efficient use of space

The use of cost-effective extruded aluminium profiles in combination with highly rigid recirculating ball bearing guides and rack and pinion drives achieves optimum performance with high cost-effectiveness. Abrasion-resistant polyurethane toothed belts are used to synchronise the individual stages. An automated lubrication system ensures durability and low maintenance. The compact design is very space-saving and enables efficient use of space. For comparison: with a stroke of 1,200 mm, the installation length with a conventional axis from the Plus system (SC160) is 2,000 mm, with the TLS280 it is only 1,095 mm. This means that only half the installation space is required.

Vertical and horizontal installation

The TLS system is suitable for both vertical installation (limited ceiling height) and horizontal installation (limited lateral installation space) and realises strokes of up to 3,000 mm and loads of up to 450 kg. Variants with stroke on both sides are also available. When installed vertically, the systems achieve speeds of up to 6 m/s and accelerations of up to 12 m/s2 with a repeat accuracy of ±0.05 mm. If the telescopic linear axis system is installed horizontally, speeds of up to 6 m/s and accelerations of up to 20 m/s2 are possible with a repeat accuracy of ±0.03 mm.

2- and 3-stage systems

The new Telescopic System is versatile, including machine loading or assembly automation, and integrates seamlessly into multi-axis configurations. In the 3-stage variants, the individual stages are synchronised exclusively via toothed belts. This predestines them for use in highly dynamic applications, for example for loading press tools. If, on the other hand, high masses are required, the hour of the 2-stage systems has come. The combination of toothed rack on the gearbox and toothed belt in the synchronisation of the second stage makes them particularly robust.

Compact, powerful, durable: with the TLS system, Rollon offers an ideal solution for automation in confined installation situations, enabling users to achieve maximum productivity with minimum space requirements.
