Now with new platform

In 2018, Dunkermotoren introduced its own platform for controlling its smart BG motors. The so-called Motor Control Platform (MCP) has since proven itself and was rolled out step by step across the various motor sizes. Now that the largest motor of the series, the BG 95, the sizes BG 65 or 66 and BG 75 and the external controller BGE 5510 are already available on an MCP basis, the next smaller size can also look forward to an update: the BG 45 dPro is here!

The BG 45 dPro impresses with its edge length of just 46 mm and is thus the smallest member of the dPro family. As with all BG dPro motors, its strength is the integration of the complete motor electronics into the already compact motor housing. Despite its size, the BG 45 dPro can easily keep up with its big brothers:

With a continuous output power of up to 110 W and rated speeds of up to 4,720 rpm, the motor is more powerful than its predecessors at the same rated voltage. In combination with gears, encoders and/or brakes from Dunkermotoren's modular system, it is easy to find the right drive for any application - whether in intralogistics, medical technology, packaging, semiconductor or electronics industry. Thanks to its IP protection up to IP 65, the BG 45 dPro is even suitable for use in demanding environments.

In terms of functions & features, the BG 45 dPro not only offers programmable digital inputs and outputs, an analogue input and a 4096 cpr high-resolution encoder. Various current, speed and position modes can also be easily programmed thanks to MCP. Connection is just as easy, either via CANopen or with one of the Industrial Ethernet interfaces PROFINET, EtherCAT or EtherNet/IP. A 15-pin hybrid connector and the "Drive Assistant 5" configuration tool allow uncomplicated commissioning.

In addition, functions such as condition monitoring, predictive maintenance or alarming & messaging can be realised via the new nexofox MotionCode. With the BG 45 dPro and nexofox, nothing stands in the way of the IIoT and your own Smart Factory.

The safety function STO (Safe Torque Off) is integrated as standard in all BG 45 dPro motors with Industrial Ethernet. STO is optionally available for CANopen versions. With STO, your motor can be reliably set torque-free without interrupting the logic voltage, which saves you time-consuming re-referencing when restarting.

With the BG 45 dPro, Dunkermotoren has once again struck a chord with the times and proven that over 20 years of experience in the field of BLDC motors with integrated electronics fit into such a small motor.
