Rollon, the linear technology specialist, developed the O-Rail especially for larger handling applications. The powerful, simple and versatile linear system features a robust guide rail with three raceways.
A high-quality flat black running rail gives the O-Rail an elegant appearance, but the color has to do with more than just aesthetics. In the patented Rollon NOX process, the hardened, high-strength and heavy-duty steel used for the rail receives a black oxide layer, which makes it extremely resistant to wear and also provides reliable protection against corrosion.
The design of the FXRG guide features three raceways, which are arranged at an angle of 90º. Rollers with a solid outer race and two rows of bearings ensure a high load-bearing capacity as well as smooth and quiet operation even at high speeds.
Special grease provides for lifetime lubrication of the bearings, which allows long-term operation in a temperature range of -40 °C to +130 °C. The highly polished raceways have an ogival profile, which ensures high rolling precision with very low friction and a long service life.
A self aligning linear system
The use of multiple parallel and variable-length O-Rail segments, in combination with adjustable fixed and loose bearing rollers, allows numerous linear motion combinations. This also brings a major benefit of the linear system to the fore: Two parallel rails form a self-aligning system that compensates mounting inaccuracies of +/- 1 mm axially and +/- 5º in rotation. That reduces costs for the connecting construction while achieving smooth operation and reliable performance.
The O-Rail enables steady motions also on uneven surfaces and is suitable as a versatile linear system for diverse types of applications.
