Reduction in variants in the control cabinet
With the NordAC PRO SK 500P, Nord Drivesystems has a control cabinet converter for practically every drive task. It is available in variants with a power range of 0.25 to 22 kW, which can be assigned to different requirements in different industries. The system supplier is currently working on expanding the power range.
A control standard across several application areas - that was the goal that Nord set itself when developing the NordAC PRO SK 500P. The result is a control cabinet converter whose features enable a high degree of versatility and intelligent communication with system components. This enables Nord users to reduce the number of converter variants and to be able to rely on one system in the long term.
Versatile integration
As with all converters in the NordAC PRO series, one of the key elements is the integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface. This allows the control component to be integrated into various networks without retrofitting. This includes the Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP and Powerlink protocols. Depending on the model, other protocols are covered. The converter can also be parameterized without voltage via a USB interface.
The integrated PLC reacts independently to changes in the system's processes. This enables it to relieve the load on the higher-level control system. The POSICON positioning function carries out various positioning tasks. It is equally capable of controlling relative or absolute positioning using incremental or absolute encoders. Sequential positioning of up to four axes is even possible by switching parameter sets.
Control from the hoist to the pump
Users can implement a wide range of industry-typical drive tasks with NordAC PRO SK 500P. The control cabinet converter has vector control with an overload reserve of 200%. This makes it suitable for controlling geared motors in heavy-duty applications or in lifting systems. Its PI controller and integrated dancer control make it the ideal frequency converter for pumps and winding systems. The frequency converter, with its booksize format, requires very little space in the control cabinet and allows direct side-by-side installation without any gaps.
Other sizes in preparation
NordAC PRO SK 500P can ultimately control all types of motors with and without encoder feedback. In order to make its advantages available over a wider power range, Nord is currently working on new sizes for the converter.
Together with geared motors, industrial gearboxes and electric motors from Nord's modular product range, drive solutions are created that are technically and economically tailored to the respective application requirements. Nord supplies these completely from a single source. The system supplier can also rely on a global network that covers more than 80 countries.
