Safety couplings

For hygienic and process-critical drives

For hygienic and process-critical drives

Enemac's ECV and ECW safety couplings are specifically designed for indirectly driven systems such as chain or toothed belt drives. They reliably protect drive components from mechanical overload while simultaneously meeting the stringent requirements of the food, beverage, and process industries for corrosion resistance, operational reliability, and ease of cleaning.

Thanks to their all-stainless-steel construction—without coatings or painted surfaces—the couplings withstand aggressive media, moisture, and frequent CIP/SIP cleaning cycles. This makes them ideal for hygienically sensitive production areas where process reliability, chemical resistance, and sterility are essential.

Technical Data

  • Torque range: 5 Nm to 900 Nm
  • Max. speed: up to 4,000 rpm
  • Axial/radial load capacity: up to 30,000 N
  • Shaft connection: Keyway (ECV) or backlash-free clamping ring hub (ECW)

Design Features

  • Stainless steel disc spring – corrosion-resistant, coating-free, low particle content.
  • Compact stainless steel housing – resistant to cleaning and process chemicals.
  • High disengagement accuracy – reliable protection of sensitive components in case of overload.
  • Maintenance-free, durable design – engineered for continuous operation under critical environmental conditions.

Benefits for designers and plant operators

  • Effective protection of the drive and peripherals against torque overload.
  • Suitable for hygienic, humid, and chemically demanding production environments.
  • Minimized downtime through precise, reproducible overload protection.
  • Reduced maintenance requirements due to robust stainless steel construction.

With the Enemac stainless steel safety couplings ECV and ECW, designers of packaging and filling systems have access to a technically sophisticated solution that combines precise torque limitation, hygienic design and high operational reliability – optimally tailored to the requirements of modern systems in the food and beverage industry.
