Frequency converters
Same size – double the performance
BMR elektrischer und elektronischer Gerätebau GmbH has further optimized its smallest, highly efficient SFU 400 frequency converter. The latest product from the drive specialists in Schwabach is now on the market: The new SFU 400pro frequency converter combines maximum power output of up to 600 VA and high output currents with minimal dimensions.
“This means that our compact device has almost doubled the performance of its predecessor,” explains Stephan Brittling, Managing Director of BMR elektrischer und elektronischer Apparatebau GmbH. “The SFU 400pro has a wide range of applications, from driving miniature spindles in grinding technology, to small milling and CNC machines in metalworking and PCB manufacturing, to CAD CAM systems.”
The size of this powerhouse is comparable to a cigarette packet, measuring 73 x 53 x 14 mm, or 100 mm x 55 mm x 22 mm on the mounting plate. This makes the SFU 400 pro from BMR unique worldwide.
Flexible and quick installation
In addition to its high power reserve, a major advantage for customers is the particularly simple connection via pluggable terminals. Pluggable screw terminals for stranded wires and wires up to 3 mm2 are available for power supply and motor connection, while the IOs use pluggable spring-cage terminals.
Of course, the SFU 400pro for sensorless operation of asynchronous and synchronous motors has all the other features of the BMR frequency inverter family.
A digital signal processor (DSP) controls and regulates the drive sensitively and with high power reserves. The highly accurate sinusoidal output voltage is a maximum of 32 V and allows optimum rotational quality of the motors in all operating states at speeds of up to over 100,000 rpm. Even in this small format, a 4-watt braking resistor is integrated, which enables safe and fast braking of the spindle. The cooling system is even more efficient than in the previous model.
The SFU 400pro is installed at the customer's site directly where the power is needed, allowing the length of the connection cables to be kept as short as possible. This drastically reduces EMC interference because the installation can be carried out as close to the spindle as possible. A plastic housing provides protection against contamination and helps to prevent defects caused by contact.
With 47 years of experience and expertise in the development and manufacture of frequency converters and outstanding customer service, the family-owned company BMR has established a firm position in international markets.
