Baumüller collaborates with ControlEng Corporation: DS4 series IPMSM motor model integrated into Servosoft design software.

The DS4 motor series features buried magnets, a very compact design, and an extended rated torque range. This makes this Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) suitable for applications in numerous industries.

ControlEng Corporation's Servosoft design tool is a market standard for the efficient design of electrical drive systems. Baumüller and ControlEng Corporation have been collaborating closely for many years and have now jointly developed an IPMSM motor model. This allows for optimal design of the new DS4 series.

The DS4 motors have a high efficiency of over 97 percent and a low CO2 footprint. This is due to the reduced material usage resulting from the very compact design. This also allows for a reduction in machine footprint. The improved dynamics simultaneously increase productivity and ensure that machine movements can be executed faster.

“We are very pleased that we can exclusively use the IPMSM motor model in SERVOsoft and thus optimally design our new DS4 motor series with buried magnets for and with our customers,” emphasizes application engineer Yannik Martin from Baumüller.
