With the new DualGear, Faulhaber introduces a high-performance drive system that combines proven BX4 and GPT technologies into a single, sophisticated unit. Developed to meet the demands of modern conveyor technology, the DualGear delivers high dynamics, robustness, and precision, all within a compact, diameter-matched design.

The DualGear drive system was specifically engineered for applications in conveyor belts as well as in the compact wheel drives of autonomous logistics systems. Particularly in space-constrained intralogistics environments, the system offers a powerful and cost-effective solution. A key advantage lies in its versatility: two synchronous movements can be realized using a single drive unit. This significantly reduces integration effort while simultaneously optimizing installation space and system costs.

A powerful combination of BX4 and GPT technology

The new drive system brings together two high-performance partners in a single compact unit: the powerful and dynamic 32 mm brushless motor from the proven BX4 family, and two robust metal planetary gearheads from the GPT series – mounted on either side of the motor in a diameter-matched configuration.

The BX4 base motor for the DualGear combination is available in two lengths: 42 mm and 68 mm. This allows the drive system to be flexibly adapted to a wide range of performance and installation space requirements. Hall sensors with sine-cosine output signals enable precise rotor position detection, ensuring exact commutation and positioning. When combined with an external motion controller, precise positioning movements become possible, resulting in a drive system that combines high torque and maximum precision with a compact form factor.

In this specific combination, the GPT planetary gearheads are available with up to three stages, allowing for a precisely tailored configuration to meet specific speed and torque requirements. Continuously welded component connections guarantee a reliable and durable construction, without the use of adhesives.
