Designed for extreme conditions

Bosch Rexroth is expanding its portfolio of linear guides with a solution designed for extreme operating conditions. The new NRTVG (NRII Temperature Vacuum Graded) carriage for BSHP ball-rail guides in size 25 is made entirely of metal and is therefore suitable for motion applications in vacuum environments as well as in harsh environments or at temperatures ranging from -30 to 200 °C. The carriage, made of corrosion-resistant steel, is resistant to a wide range of aggressive media. Various wiper blades made of metal or durable plastics are available as optional attachments.

Typical applications for the new NRTVG guide carriage include the semiconductor and electronics industries, such as in display manufacturing and other production processes under vacuum with pressures as low as 10^-7 mbar. Two vent holes on each side allow air pockets caused by assembly to escape quickly, ensuring that the vacuum remains undisturbed. Other areas of application include deep-freeze environments, open warehouses, and environments with particularly high temperatures, such as those found in foundries or in glass manufacturing.

Thanks to a ball guide manufactured using state-of-the-art MIM (Metal Injection Molding) processes, the NRTVG guide carriage is also suitable for applications that do not permit plastic parts in or on the linear guide. For contact with aggressive media and optimal wiping performance, a fluorocarbon rubber (FKM) seal is available as an optional attachment; it can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 150 °C as well as chemicals and oils. An optional front-mounted sheet metal scraper, also made of corrosion-resistant steel, protects against coarse contaminants such as metal chips.

Depending on requirements, the new carriage can be combined with a standard rail or an NRII rail. Further advantages result from the carriage’s special design, which features a patented entry zone. As a result, the low-vibration BSHP (Ball Rail System High Precision) ball rail guide achieves high precision and a long service life with operating distances of 12 million km and more. During replacement, the guide rail and carriage can be replaced separately, which minimizes resource consumption and maintenance costs.

The new guide carriage can be quickly and easily designed and configured using the Rexroth Guide Carriage Configurator or the Online Selector for Linear Technology. After entering just a few details, the product suited to the application is ready to order—including accessories and CAD data.
