Nord Drivesystems offers a high-performance combination for mixing and agitation technology: Maxxdrive industrial gear units paired with the Safomi IEC adapter—developed specifically for mixers—enhance operational reliability and reduce the number of wear parts. As part of an alternative drive solution for brush aerators, the wastewater industry also benefits from this low-maintenance concept, which ensures longer uptimes.

The Maxxdrive series of industrial gear units delivers high output torques ranging from 15 to 282 kNm, ensuring smooth operation even under demanding conditions. Their compact, FEM-optimized design allows them to withstand extreme external loads. For agitator applications, the combination with the Safomi IEC adapter (Safomi = Sealless Adapter For Mixers)—which features an integrated oil expansion tank—is highly recommended.

The Safomi stands out due to its compact, simple design. Its key feature is an integrated oil expansion volume. This eliminates the need for external oil tanks and hoses, as well as the shaft seal between the gear unit and the IEC motor—a component otherwise prone to leakage and wear. Consequently, using the Safomi IEC adapter on the agitator drive increases operational reliability and reduces maintenance requirements. Not only is the oil fill level—and thus the required oil volume—lower, but the absence of add-on components also saves installation space.
Greater operational reliability with less effort

With two versions of its Maxxdrive bevel-helical gear units featuring Safomi, Nord offers the wastewater industry a powerful drive alternative for brush aerators. Designed as replacements for existing drive solutions, they are easy to install. The input stage is configured as a Safomi adapter as standard. This makes the solution compact, low-wear, and low-maintenance, while extending the uptime of the entire system. Two radial shaft seals on the output shaft provide additional protection—both outwardly against oil leakage and inwardly against aggressive substances that could attack the seal.
