Precisely control lifting columns and electric cylinders

RK Rose+Krieger is launching the MultiControl II control unit for the individual or parallel operation of lifting columns and electric cylinders. Following the successful completion of functional and EMC tests, the component will be available starting in the autumn. Users will benefit from broad compatibility with international power grids, energy efficiency, and versatile mounting options.

With the MultiControl II (Single/Parallel) control unit from RK Rose+Krieger, users can control up to two Multilift II lifting columns or electric cylinders either individually or in parallel. In applications where synchronous control is not required—such as gravity conveyors—it still enables the safe, asymmetrical movement of loads.

For new installations and retrofits

During development, the manufacturer placed great emphasis on the component's high level of compatibility. The control unit allows users to operate not only the latest generation of RK Rose+Krieger lifting columns and electric cylinders but also models from the previous generation; thanks to DIN and Molex connectors, these can be easily connected to the new control unit during retrofits. Connections for pluggable cables and a wide-range input (100 to 230 V AC) make the device suitable for global use.

For ease of use

The MultiControl II (Single/Parallel) is easily operated via a 6-button or 2-button hand switch. Standard integrated overcurrent and temperature monitoring ensures reliable overload protection as well as smooth motor starting and stopping. This allows lifting columns and electric cylinders to operate safely and without jerking. Additionally, the unit enables speed control for the lifting columns and electric cylinders.

For streamlined designs

The system was designed in accordance with Ecodesign guidelines. Its switched-mode power supply technology ensures more efficient energy usage compared to the previous model. Developers at RK Rose+Krieger succeeded in reducing standby power consumption from an annualized 52 kWh to approximately 4 kWh. They also cut the unit's weight by around 80%: while earlier models weighed 1,800 g, the new MultiControl II Single/Parallel weighs just 330 g. This feature further highlights the controller's versatility; as a lightweight unit, it can easily be mounted directly onto moving components when needed, enabling more streamlined linear designs.
