Making the procurement of components in mechanical and plant engineering as simple as possible is an important concern for the Lower Franconian coupling manufacturer R+W. Now, in addition to precision cardan shafts that bridge distances of up to 6 metres, customers can also order important accessories for reliable torque transmission at high speeds and long distances.
Cardan shafts without intermediate bearings can be found, among other things, in machine tools, packaging and printing machines, conveyor and crane systems or in the area of production and painting lines, easily bridging lengths of up to six metres. In various applications, e.g. in screw jacks or in stage construction, high speeds often have to be transmitted along the length. In order to avoid the so-called "oscillation" and ultimately the breaking of the shaft(s), an intermediate bearing is recommended.
The new product, a vibration-damping cardan shaft with a single-sided rigid hub (EZ2 S), was developed precisely for these applications. The design of the component also enables
short assembly and disassembly time and covers torque transmission from 12.5 to 1,350 Nm as standard.
Matching accessories such as intermediate bearings (ZL) and intermediate shafts (ZW) are now available in the product portfolio. The intermediate bearings are available in sizes 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50. The corresponding intermediate shafts are available in three versions: without keyway, with one keyway or with two keys.
The complete package consisting of cardan shaft, accessories and expert advice from R+W-Technik and enables an optimal machine and system alignment. The selection and purchase for thus reduced by unnecessary intermediate steps and significantly simplified for the customer.
