Stöber has expanded its drive controllers of the SC6 and SI6 series with additional Profinet functions. With the newly developed SU6 module, the controllers offer an attractive solution for STO and SS1-t via Prpfisafe. In the motion control sector, Stöber now supports various application classes in accordance with the standardised Profidrive device profile. Highlight: The communication interfaces of the drive controllers are now also Profinet-certified.
With the SC6 and SI6 series from Stöber Antriebstechnik, the designer always has the right drive controller at hand. The SC6 series is a compact stand-alone solution for up to two drive axes with rated output currents of up to 2 x 19 A. The SI6 series is also slim, but now with Profinet. The SI6 is also slim, dynamic and suitable for bayed technology with rated output currents of up to 50 A. The power supply is provided by central supply modules in the network. Up to now, these economical and low-footprint-optimised drive controllers were mainly used in EtherCAT-based applications.
Stöber has now added further Profinet functions to both series. For functional safety, the drive specialist has developed the SU6 safety module, which is optionally available for the drive controllers. This provides the user with an economically attractive solution for the safety functions STO and SS1-t via the PROFIsafe safety protocol. The drive controllers are thus predestined for use in safety-critical systems up to SIL 3, PL e, category 4. The designer can, for example, implement an emergency stop according to EN 13850 - or avoid an unexpected start-up according to EN 14118. The functionality of the communication interfaces of both controllers is also Profinet-certified. This was done as part of a type examination by the Institute for Occupational Safety (IFA) of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
For the realisation of even complex motion control applications, Stöber now supports the drive connection according to the Profidrive application classes AC1 and AC3 for speed control with speed setpoint and drive-based positioning. The next step will be application class AC4 for control-based positioning.
The SC6 and SI6 drive controllers can be combined with all geared motors from Stöber. This can be a simple spur gear, but also an extremely precise high-end planetary gear motor. The user also receives the complete cabling and thus everything from a single source. With one contact person. All in all, a system that is precisely tailored to its task.
