Reliable sensors for length measurement

FSG Fernsteuergeräte has been a manufacturer of sensor technology for over 75 years. Draw-wire encoders are indispensable as reliable sensors for measuring the length of linear motion sequences. For the wide range of applications in a wide variety of environments, FSG remote control units offer three standard series of wire-draw encoders.

The robust premium series SL3000 with aluminum housing (optionally also V4A) is designed for industrial applications, with measuring lengths up to 60 meters. A mechanical masterpiece is the movable rope drum in the housing: it causes the rope to rewind neatly when the spring pulls it back. The SL3000 is a bestseller and sets the recognized standard for wire rope encoders in terms of accuracy, quality and durability - the original from FSG Remote Control Devices.

The SL00 (Basic) series completes the range as a compact yet highly precise and, above all, inexpensive version with measuring lengths of up to 10 meters. Thanks to their durable plastic housing and slim design, these wire-actuated encoders are particularly lightweight and can be installed even in the tightest spaces.

Always the right solution

This standard program is the basis for the almost innumerable variants with which FSG remote control units realize individual customer requirements - also in small series or even as individual items. The spectrum ranges from specific materials (V4A, aluminum, plastic) or special colors for the housing to special designs such as the SL5 model (Heavy Duty). This means that FSG wire rope encoders are also suitable for use under difficult conditions such as heavy soiling, extreme heat or cold, risk of corrosion due to seawater, in the vicinity of high-voltage power lines or in locations with a risk of explosion.

FSG wire-actuated encoders in all series were originally fitted with the company's own potentiometers or encoders with their wide range of signal outputs, connection and combination options (e.g. CAN, Profinet, Hart protocol and others). Meanwhile, all wire-actuated encoders from FSG Fernsteuergeräte can also be combined with encoders from other manufacturers and other accessories.

The experts at FSG Fernsteuergeräte not only have the necessary know-how for the best solution in each case: Thanks to the high vertical range of manufacture of 90 percent, the manufacturer is also able to produce practically all components of a special version (including electronic ones) within a short time. The company's own measuring and testing facilities and comprehensive quality control ensure that the products leave the factory in perfect condition.
