Compact with integrated control
The automation technology specialist Afag has further developed its spring de-electrator (FEG). After the update, the Smart-FEG now has an integrated mini control. This allows the user to easily access all functions of the device via intuitive operation on the built-in touchpad. Important parameters such as blowback, vortex and pause time can be freely adjusted.
"We have optimized our FEG to meet the new market requirements for decentralized controls. There are also safety improvements in the operating area," explains Claus Piechatzek, product manager for feeding technology at Afag. The spring unscrambler operates with a supply voltage of 24 volts and a part-dependent pressure of between six and ten bar. The Afag solution is optionally available with one or up to six outlets. In addition, up to six ring sensors and two automatic separators can be controlled via the integrated miniature controller. Typical areas of application are mechanical engineering and suppliers to the automotive and consumer goods industries as well as medical and electrical engineering.
Users can use the Smart-FEG to disentangle compression springs in a process-safe manner. Thanks to its compact design, it can be easily integrated into systems. A separate control system is not required, and the amount of cabling required is very low. Smart FEG has an intuitive user interface through which all parameters can be set. In addition, users can monitor all digital inputs and outputs.
