The hub of digital production

The hub of digital production

With its simple, cloud-based Setago assistance system, Phoenix Mecano Komponenten AG supports companies in digitization, quality management and the efficient design of work processes and instructions - from production to the customer. In doing so, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool allows the linking of all physical products on the store floor and thus also the addition of existing or new mechatronic work equipment.

In many small and medium-sized companies, data collection as well as the creation, management and distribution of work or action instructions is often still done manually or with tools that are actually unsuitable. With its browser-based SaaS tool Setago, Phoenix Mecano Komponenten AG now offers development and manufacturing service providers as well as producing companies in almost all industrial sectors a tool that is as simple as it is effective for professionalizing their store floor processes or connections as well as their hardware and accompanying documentation.

The basis for the development of the new platform is Phoenix Mecano's extensive expertise in lean and assembly. Thus, Setago was initially developed as an efficiency-increasing support for the company's own production. It quickly became apparent that the company's customers would also benefit from such a SaaS tool. "In times of a shortage of skilled workers, the Setago app is incredibly valuable. New employees are productive almost immediately. As a result, the app not only increases process efficiency. At the same time, it guarantees flawless product quality and thus optimizes quality management," explains Michael Jahn, Managing Director of Phoenix Mecano Komponenten AG.

Paperless processes and digital assembly instructions

The Setago app captures all work process data and makes it available in a targeted manner. It guides employees step by step through the manufacturing process, but also offers a user-friendly editor for creating and distributing work instructions and providing product-related information, for example as a digital nameplate. Open hardware interfaces allow the integration of existing manufacturing equipment such as robots or test setups. In addition, the browser-based SaaS tool enables those responsible for QA in the company to comprehensively prepare, evaluate, visualize and trace all (quality-relevant) data as well as uniform process documentation for sustainable knowledge management and stable processes. Information can be easily shared via automatically created URL links and QR codes.

Since Setago also allows the identification and optimization of critical or time-intensive work steps, the tool contributes significantly to an increase in process and production efficiency and is thus an investment that pays for itself within a very short time for the user.

The cloud-based assistance system requires neither download nor installation, but only a browser-enabled end device. After purchase, users simply integrate it into the company's own software landscape via an API interface and can start using it immediately. Familiarization is quick and uncomplicated. Instructions are clear and unambiguous, and changes to the work process are immediately visible. In addition, all step-by-step instructions and checklists in the Setago app are compatible with Phoenix Mecano's mechatronic products and can be combined by customers with their local PLC for data acquisition or process control.
