Safety couplings

Cold is not a problem

Cold is not a problem

The SK2 safety coupling from R+W Antriebselemente is made of hardened steel and highly elastic stainless steel as standard and can withstand temperatures from -30 up to +120° C. The easy-to-assemble torsionally stiff coupling operates according to the pantentic backlash-free principle and is characterized by a very low moment of inertia.

This is because machines and their components reach their limits at temperatures far below freezing. Nevertheless, machine failures due to cold embrittlement of the materials, for example in cold chambers or in countries with low temperatures, should be avoided, as such failures are associated with high costs.

Versions with angular synchronous re-engagement, latching, locked or free-running are available. The rapid disengagement within 1-3 ms and the high switching travel when the clutch engages ensure optimum protection of the drive train.

Thanks to this combination of high-quality materials and the clever safety function, the SK2 safety coupling enables a smooth production process even under extreme conditions such as freezing cold.

The connection with the two clamping hubs allows easy installation in confined spaces. The torque transmission in the standard goes from 0.1 to 1,800 Nm - higher torques on request and in cooperation with the experienced R+W Antiebselemente engineers.

Welcome to drivesweb 2023!

Dear readers,

the new year is still very young, but we have all certainly been wondering in the past few days what it will bring for us. Even we in the editorial team cannot look into the future, but we are sure that we will again inform you about exciting topics from the world of drive technology – via our newsletters, the website and social media. We would like to announce two highlights: a new job exchange for automation will go online in the coming weeks and on the website of our digital magazine GO>>ing, in which we also report on drive technology, you will soon be able to read numerous exciting reports.

We wish you a successful, happy and healthy 2023!
