Planetary gears
Precision in XL format
With the fourth generation of the PH series, Stöber presents extremely precise servo planetary gearboxes that are the largest in their performance class on the market. In addition to their high precision, these also operate energy-efficiently. Stöber also offers the variant as a geared motor.
Planetary gearheads are the royal class of gearheads. Stöber Antriebstechnik has been one of the specialists in this field for almost 40 years. The components are compactly built and can transmit high torques because, in contrast to conventional gearboxes, the forces are distributed over several gear wheels. With the current planetary gearheads, the drive specialist is now launching the large sizes on the market in the fourth generation.
These can be combined with the compact synchronous servomotors of the EZ series and mounted directly. Without an adapter, the mass moment of inertia is lower and the drive more dynamic. With the Stöber motor adapters, the drive specialist can connect all suitable third-party motors to the gear unit series. For this purpose, the adapters are available with different couplings as well as in the ServoStop variant with an integrated brake. With the extra large motor plate in Large design, the user attaches motors with a very large design. If desired, the PH gearboxes are also available with a drive-in angular step.
Stöber designed the fourth generation of its PH gear units to be up to 100 millimeters shorter than the previous version. This has a positive effect on rigidity and mass inertia. The new gear units also require less installation space, are lighter and in some cases offer around 20 percent more torque - as well as a 50 percent increase in breakdown torque.
The high-quality housing and gear teeth increase acceleration torque by up to eleven percent on the one hand and running accuracy and precision on the other. In addition, there is a very high tilting rigidity. Stöber has increased parameters such as power density and torsional stiffness, and has widened or generously dimensioned the planetary gears at certain ratios. In addition, state-of-the-art materials and hardening processes are used for the planetary gears and sun pinions, as well as lifetime lubrication with synthetic gear oil. Because this makes the new gear unit series extremely stable and robust, service and repairs are virtually no longer required.
With a ratio range of 12 to 600, the new PH gear units are particularly flexible in use. In addition to the standard PH version, Stöber also has a Quattro version in its range: The PHQ series with four-planet system is also extremely precise with its qualitative helical gearing and offers even greater torsional rigidity. The user also benefits from maximum torque. On request, Stöber can also combine the fourth generation with rack and pinion drives of the ZTR and ZTRS series. This provides the user with high-performance gearmotors, for example for use in feed axes of machine tools. Due to their high efficiency, the new planetary gear units are in demand wherever size, precision, economy and efficiency play a role.
The drive specialists have also optimized the design of the new generation and adapted it to the family of Stöber planetary gearheads.
