More efficiency for simple motors

Nord Drivesystems is famous for its IE4 and IE5 motors, but the drive specialist also offers reliable solutions in the lower power segment. Its new 1-phase asynchronous motor not only comes in a new design, it has also improved in efficiency by one efficiency class.

Suppliers from the construction, food and agricultural industries as well as operators of amusement parks will find the new 1-phase asynchronous motor from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS an attractive offer. The company has thoroughly revised its existing 1-phase asynchronous motor.

Complies with efficiency class IE2

As before, the new 1-phase asynchronous motor can be used in a power range from 0.12 to 1.5 kW, but now corresponds to efficiency class IE2 according to the Ecodesign Regulation 1781/2019. A new electronic relay replaces the previous mechanical one. The design has also been refreshed and, among other things, the capacitors have been placed in the terminal box. As a result, the motor now complies with protection class IP66 and is protected against the ingress of dust and water.

"For comparatively simple applications, such as in mobile concrete mixers or pumps, our revised 1-phase asynchronous motor is a cost-effective and efficient drive solution," emphasises Jörg Niermann, Division Manager Marketing at NORD. Also practical: thanks to certification in accordance with the European CE marking, the Chinese CCC standard and the UKCA marking from Great Britain, the motor is approved for use in many regions of the world.
