Developing prototypes quickly

TDK Corporation presents a Development Starter Kit to quickly develop haptic prototypes with the PowerHap piezo actuators. In a simple way, it gives designers and engineers first impressions of haptic feedback with these components.

It also shows how the actuators can be mechanically integrated and provides a reference design that can be adapted to different applications. Due to their unique performance in terms of acceleration, force and reaction time, PowerHap offers an unprecedented quality of haptic feedback. Applications include vehicles (e.g. steering wheels, displays, dashboards, buttons), smartphones, displays and tablets, home appliances, ATMs and vending machines, game controllers, VR gloves, industrial equipment and medical devices.

The PowerHap Starter Kit (order number: Z63000Z2910Z01Z73) consists of a seamless keypad unit (incl. PowerHap 1204H018V060 and PowerHap 1313H018V120), a round keypad unit (incl. PowerHap 1204H018V060), the driver board BOS1901-Kit from Boréas Technologies, further PowerHap components (incl. FPC connection cable), USB cable and a quick guide for the user.

The BOS1901 kit is pre-programmed for the seamless and round pushbuttons so that the PowerHap actuators can be experienced sensory and haptic right away. The Boréas platform features make it easy to customise the haptic experience by adjusting the sensing parameters and the waveform of the haptic feedback.
