Roller guides
Economical alternative to linear guideways
The compact roller guides of the Rollon Compact Rail are robust, low-maintenance, reliable and self-aligning. This makes them an ideal solution for applications with high demands on performance, user-friendliness and cost-effectiveness – and a real alternative to linear guideways.
When it comes to issues such as self-alignment, customization, corrosion resistance, dirty environments and low noise, roller guides such as Rollon's Compact Rail have a clear advantage over profiled rail guides. The self-aligning systems combine outstanding performance with optimum economy, enabling quiet, reliable, low-maintenance and cost-reduced construction designs..
High-performance roller guides
The Compact Rail is a linear guideway made of cold-drawn steel profile with induction-hardened and ground raceways and a robust steel slider. The self-aligning systems have a compact design, are insensitive to dirt and dust and are designed for high travel speeds (max. 9 m/s) and accelerations (max. 20 m/s2). In addition, the roller guides are characterized by a long service life and low maintenance requirements. Rollon has developed the Compact Rail Plus for particularly demanding applications in terms of load capacity, dynamics and working environment. It has track rollers with double-row ball bearings and offers significantly higher load ratings for the same size – up to 170 % in the axial direction and 65 % in the radial direction.
Unique ability for self-alignment
Tolerance compensation is a characteristic feature of the Compact Rail family: with combinations of different rail and roller types, parallelism errors of the mounting surfaces in one or two planes (axial and radial) can be perfectly compensated for, as can height offset or angular errors between the guideways. Parallelism errors between the rails of up to 3.9 mm and errors with regard to vertical alignment of up to ±2° can be compensated for or, in the case of the Compact Rail Plus - the variant with double-row ball bearings for particularly high load ratings - distance errors of up to 3.5 mm and angular errors of up to ±1.3°. This shortens the assembly time, reduces production costs and ensures a high degree of flexibility.
Induction-hardened and ground raceways
The induction-hardened and ground raceways guarantee maximum reliability as well as smooth and quiet movements. As the raceways are located inside the C-profile, they are protected from contamination. This ensures a long service life and a particularly compact design – ideal for harsh environments and constructions where space is at a premium. Thanks to the integrated lubrication system and the lifetime-lubricated rollers, maintenance requirements are minimal.
Wide range of applications
The large selection of sizes and designs enables a wide range of combinations and thus ensures a high degree of application flexibility. Whether robots, manipulators, industrial machines or packaging systems – wherever linear movements need to be automated reliably and compactly, the modular Compact Rail is the first choice. Sectors such as medical technology, logistics and the aviation industry also benefit from the specific properties of the robust roller guides.
