Focus on energy efficiency

Innomotics, a global supplier of electric motors and large drive systems as a spin-off from the Siemens Group, is presenting two innovations in its portfolio for electric motors. With the highly efficient Simotics SD permanent magnet motor and the new shaft heights of the Simotics SD series, Innomotics is responding to the increased demand for state-of-the-art energy-efficient solutions and thus to immediate customer requirements. In addition, the two new motors fulfil or exceed the recently introduced legal efficiency requirements.

Michael Reichle, CEO of Innomotics, confirms this: "Innomotics has made a very good start under the new brand and is well positioned with its portfolio for the coming challenges in the industry. The purpose of our company and the benefits for our customers are at the centre of everything we do. We are at the beginning of an exciting journey. However, our ambition is crystal clear: we will continue to do everything we can to help our customers become more sustainable and energy efficient - while maintaining at least the same high quality for which we are known. The strategic partnership with Siemens will continue to give us additional drive to achieve these goals."

The innovative, highly efficient Simotics SD permanent magnet motor is significantly smaller and lighter than conventional high-performance motors while delivering the same performance, thus not only saving space but also facilitating machine integration. At the same time, the size optimisation in production leads to a 44% reduction in CO2 emissions and thus contributes to a sustainable business model. The high-performance motors from Innomotics with their robust cast iron housing are the first choice for all major applications in both conventional and harsh industrial environments. Even under extreme conditions, they are extremely reliable, versatile, compact and easy to handle. The new Simotics SD permanent magnet motor is the most efficient way to significantly reduce energy consumption in applications and sets new standards in energy efficiency.

The second new development is the recently expanded Simotics SD series. This builds on the established and proven Simotics SD series for low-voltage motors, which already fulfils efficiency class IE4 (Super Premium Efficiency), which is mandatory for a certain power range for the first time this year. The new motor has been extended to include additional shaft heights, meaning that Innomotics can now cover the entire power range from 2.2 kW to 1,000 kW.

With these two innovative additions to the Simotics SD motor portfolio, Innomotics continues to stand for maximum customer benefit: low energy costs, low CO2 emissions, high power density and future-proof efficiency classes for all upcoming regulatory requirements.
