Minor release expands application options

A minor release for Accon-AGLink is now available from Delta Logic: this means that the powerful communication library can also be used for applications with Raspberry Pi, especially in Siemens environments.

The Raspberry Pi miniature PC has now gained a foothold in Industry 4.0: The simple single-board computer shows its strengths in small projects with just a few data points. In manufacturing companies, for example, it is a good solution for displaying work instructions as a panel PC or recording operationally relevant data. Thanks to the new version of Accon-AGLink, developers can now utilise the outstanding performance of Delta Logic's software library in their projects with Raspberry Pi and speed them up significantly.

Powerful combination: Accon-AGLink and Raspberry Pi

By porting Accon-AGLink to Raspberry Pi, users can utilise the following modules: S7-PB, S7-TCP/IP, S7-TCP/IP TIA and S7-SymbolikPro TIA. In addition, Delta Logic offers the option of purchasing the standard Linux developer licence for an attractive small surcharge. Compared to the single licence, developers can create an unlimited number of runtimes for any number of end products based on Accon-AGLink. With a developer licence, it is also possible to obtain a maintenance contract with premium support and the Software Update Service (SUS) from Delta Logic.

As an alternative to the previous Classic and TIA single licences, the new Pro single licence is also available: it contains all modules available for Windows, including the TIA modules, the Sinumerik AddOn and the S5-ISO (H1) module. All Delta Logic single licences for Accon-AGLink are available for standard versions of Windows.

Delta Logic's multi-platform communication library Accon-AGLink ensures fast and secure data exchange between PCs or servers and PLCs, regardless of programming languages and operating systems. It offers support for controllers of the S7-200/300/400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 series, including access to the optimised data blocks. The scope of services also includes support for Sinumerik 840D sl, 840D pl and 810D pl. The controllers can be addressed directly via Accon-AGLink; no changes to the CNC software or a Siemens licence are required. From version 6.0, Accon-AGLink also supports Sinumerik One and Create MyVirtual Machine, as well as the Siemens encryption protocol Secure Communication (TLS 1.3) for maximum data security.

With support for the Raspberry Pi mini PC, Delta Logic is once again expanding the range of applications for Accon-AGLink and proving to be a valuable driving force for industrial communication. The minor release of version 6.0.1.0 is available now.
