New hybrid cable series from TKD Kabel relies on One Cable Technology
With KAWEFLEX 5288 OCT, TKD Kabel has added a new hybrid cable series to its servo and motor cable range. The supplier is thus responding to the trend towards one-cable technology, in which the transmission of power and data is combined in one slim cable. The cables in the new series offer the usual high quality standard of TKD products. With their robust performance, they are specially designed to meet the requirements of mechanical engineering and robotics.
Hybrid cables have long been a popular concept, particularly in mechanical and plant engineering. They significantly reduce the number of plug connections required, thereby cutting installation and maintenance work as well as costs. However, bundling function-critical tasks in one cable poses two challenges for its design. Firstly, the combined cables must be shielded from mutual interference. Secondly, the usually very long cables must be able to withstand high continuous mechanical stress during system operation and still guarantee maximum transmission reliability.
KAWEFLEX cables are designed for moving applications
TKD Kabel is known for its application-oriented cable concepts, which impress with their robust performance even in demanding environments. One example is the KAWEFLEX series. It was specifically designed for moving applications in drag chain applications, for example in mechanical engineering or robotics. The cables in the series are designed for several million bending cycles. Thanks to their compact design and sophisticated stranding technology, they are characterized by their slim construction and low weight. From data and control cables to the power supply, everything that mechanical engineering and robotics need is available.
New OCT series impresses with robust performance in highly dynamic applications
TKD is now rounding off this range with the new KAWEFLEX 5288 OCT series. The manufacturer is taking full advantage of the hybrid cables for users. With One Cable Technology (OCT), the new product enables up to 50 percent more compact cabling. It is temperature-resistant up to 90°C and compatible with the protocols of leading drive systems. The shielding is provided by a tinned copper braid, which offers a high level of protection against electromagnetic interference. The service life of the RoHS-compliant cables is at a high level with up to 10 million bending cycles. KAWEFLEX 5288 OCT comprises more than 15 different hybrid cable types that enable the smallest bending radii of up to 5x d. TKD thus offers one of the most comprehensive portfolios of hybrid cables for highly dynamic applications and sets new standards in terms of efficiency and durability for industrial automation systems.
Special versions are part of the portfolio
TKD Kabel is one of the world's largest suppliers of cables, wires, ready-to-connect cable systems and cable accessories. As part of the Industrial Cable Connectivity Unit, the portfolio also includes the qualified production of special cables and the complete individualization of cable properties. For example, the manufacturer can produce special versions of KAWEFLEX 5288 OCT with different dimensions, cross-sections, core and sheath colors on request.
