Cabinets
Outdoor-optimized
With its ARCA IEC series, available in 17 enclosure sizes, Fibox offers a wide range of industrially proven solutions made of fiber-reinforced polycarbonate for indoor and outdoor use that are superior to conventional sheet steel control cabinets in many ways.
The advantages include a long service life, minimal maintenance requirements, easy processing, low weight, maximum weather and corrosion resistance as well as good mechanical and chemical resistance. In outdoor areas, corrosion protection is a decisive factor for the durability, maintenance effort and tightness of the enclosures. Protective coatings on metal enclosures are susceptible to scratches and chipping, which – if not repaired in time – can quickly lead to rust damage. Since plastic enclosures are corrosion-free per se, such complex protection and maintenance measures are not necessary.
While sheet steel cabinets can be deformed by external forces, thereby impairing their tightness, the ARCA IEC series enclosures made of polycarbonate have a particularly robust, vandal-proof housing construction. The partially double-walled design and the edge-reinforced cover ensure maximum impact resistance up to IK10. Foamed-in seals made of highly age-resistant polyurethane (PUR) ensure a high degree of protection of IP66. In addition, the series has excellent insulation properties, good chemical resistance and is suitable for an extended temperature range of -40 to +80 °C. The housing material is halogen-free and flame-retardant according to UL94 5VA and, unlike ABS, also insensitive to UV radiation. Optionally available rain protection edges prevent standing water or snow from penetrating the housing when it is opened.
