Energy chains
Overhead crane makeover in no time
Tsubaki Kabelschlepp's many years of expertise in the field of energy chain systems for cranes are currently proving their worth at a large metal processing company in France. In several project phases, the existing energy guides on the overhead cranes are being replaced by hybrid energy chains of the MC0650 type from the M series. These are ideally suited to the harsh environmental conditions in the metal processing industry and are characterized, among other things, by their quick and easy installation and low maintenance requirements.
According to Philippe Connesson, responsible for technical sales North-East and sales manager France at Tsubaki Kabelschlepp, the impetus for the customer's technology change was primarily the long service life and maintenance-free nature of the new hybrid energy chains. The effort is limited to an occasional visual inspection, while the old drum systems had to be serviced regularly. "The customer was immediately interested in these arguments," reports Philippe Connesson. "He was also impressed by our service and our quality products, which can withstand the harsh environmental conditions in the metalworking industry and are easy to process."
The M series enables customized hybrid chain solutions
The hybrid energy chains of type MC0650 RS with aluminum stays from the M series by Tsubaki Kabelschlepp are used. The dismantling of the existing systems and the installation of the new technology have been in the hands of ACTEMIUM Levage, a specialist in the maintenance and renovation of crane systems with headquarters in Héricourt, France, since the start of the project.
The RS aluminum stays are suitable for light to medium loads and are available to customers in 1 mm width increments up to an internal width of 800 mm. They can be installed with a simple wrench and allow the energy chains to be opened and closed extremely quickly, as they can be easily released on the outside and inside by turning them 90°. Due to their robust strap construction, the side bands are not only particularly stable, but also allow for easy assembly through the use of easy-to-assemble locking bolts. Further advantages are the encapsulated, dirt-resistant stop system and the pot-and-lid principle of the chains, which minimizes joint wear and thus improves service life.
