The Exlar GTF, an evolution of the long-established EXLAR actuators GSX and GTX, is made of FDA-approved materials to meet EHEDG design standards.

Curtiss-Wright’s Actuation Division announced today that it has expanded its line of proven Exlar electric actuators to include a version with FDA-approved materials and specially coated housing surfaces. The GTF is designed for automation systems in the food, beverage, packaging and pharmaceutical industries. It enables customers to meet hygiene certifications such as USDA, 3-A, BISSC and EHEDG and to use Exlar products in environments with high demands on cleanliness and hygiene.

“The design of the GTF supports food safety initiatives for improved nutrition for the growing world population. “This continues to demonstrate Curtiss-Wright as a leader in safe, environmentally friendly actuator technology,” said Phil Bowker, VP/Senior General Manager of the Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division. “This innovation enables manufacturers to meet stringent hygiene standards and certifications with our proven Exlar products, which have been the gold standard in linear actuator technology for three decades.”

The Exlar GTF is elegantly designed and offers numerous equipment options, including an IP69KWashdown variant, which is critical for applications with potential food contact.

Like all Exlar integrated actuators, the GTF is ideal for manufacturers of food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing machines and lines due to its powerful roller screw, built-in servo motor and compact design. It can be easily integrated into existing designs.
