Hygienic Design for Indirect Drives

The coupling specialist Enemac from Kleinwallstadt has developed two rust-proof overload couplings specifically for torque limitation in chain and toothed belt drives of filling, cleaning and packaging machines: the types ECI_ES and ECR.

Both models meet the strict hygiene requirements of the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries.

Type ECI_ES

The ECI_ES was designed with a particularly wide bearing point to simplify the installation of wide toothed belt pulleys, chain wheels or gears in conveyor and packaging systems. Precise torque limitation is ensured by the use of disc springs, which enable large adjustment ranges without the need to change the springs. The adjustment ranges include torques from 2 Nm to 900 Nm for 14 sizes.

Type ECR

The ECR is ideal for use with narrow attachments such as toothed pulleys, cardan shafts or components with a connection flange. It is made entirely of rust-proof stainless steel inside and out. The locking balls are provided with NSF-certified lifetime lubrication. With 5 sizes and adjustment ranges from 50 Nm to 350 Nm, the ECR is ideal for clean rooms in the medical and pharmaceutical industries as well as for applications in the food industry.
