Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH is one of the leading international specialists for precision gears. The backlash-free wave gears (Ovalo GmbH location, Limburg (Lahn)) offer the highest level of precision, availability and cost-effectiveness and are a guarantee of outstanding performance and efficiency. The flexible product kit with comprehensive customizing and integration options as well as the exceptional engineering services open up maximum design freedom in construction.

The wave gears redefine quality, flexibility, availability and integration and take the innovative technology to the next level in terms of performance, engineering and cost-effectiveness. They are characterized by absolute backlash-free operation, excellent repeatability, freedom from maintenance over the entire service life and a high torque capacity (up to 15% higher compared to conventional wave gears) - and all this with small dimensions and low weight.

Individually designed wave gears in excellent quality

The customer-centric approach is unique. All wave gears can also be individually designed and performance, geometry, material and interfaces can be precisely tailored to the respective application, including function, component and system integration if required. The basis is a flexible product kit with a large selection of sizes, designs, materials and additional components such as motors, bearings, shafts, seals, housings, sensors, brakes and ECUs.

Gearbox properties can also be adapted, for example back drive torque, overload capacity, transmission accuracy, main bearing, efficiency, weight and moment of inertia. This means that customers do not have to make any compromises when designing their machines and robots. The motto: It is not the application that needs to be adapted to the gearbox, but the gearbox to the requirements.

Specialists for small torques

Whether robotics (industrial robots and cobots), testing and measurement technology, machine tool construction, medical technology, the semiconductor industry or active exoskeletons: the high-precision, lightweight, robust and compact wave gears are at home in the lower torque range and are used wherever high performance is required but only little installation space is available.

The automotive-compliant production (certification according to IATF 16949) and the modern, partially automated production concepts at the Ovalo GmbH site in Limburg (Lahn) are extremely flexible and guarantee the highest quality, best availability, short development cycles and complete traceability - from one-piece flow to large-scale production. Other companies can also benefit from the infrastructure and high process expertise and use Nabtesco as an outsourcing partner, e.g. for the partial assembly of cobots.

Digital wave gears: Smart, installation space-neutral, plug & play

"We have also succeeded in developing a sensored wave gear that is no different from a standard gear in terms of dimensions," says Daniel Obladen, Director Sales & Marketing at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH. A sensor determines torque, temperature and vibration and evaluates the data in the integrated Electronic Evaluation Unit (EEU). There are significant advantages for users in terms of condition monitoring, maintenance (predictive maintenance), overload detection, calculation of the actual service life and determination of the gear error.

Complete scalability in the product portfolio from 7 to 28,000 Nm

With the wave gears, Nabtesco's product portfolio achieves complete scalability from 7 to 28,000 Nm. This enables the company to implement suitable precision gear solutions for all axes and applications - from very small to very large. This is unique on the market.

The backlash-free wave gears are available as gear sets, gear sets plus (including tilt-resistant output shaft bearings) and gear units (plug & play). All gear solutions are available as hat type gears (HTG) and cup type gears (CTG) as well as with hollow shaft or solid shaft. The sizes range from 35 to 102, with reduction ratios of i = 30-160. Delivery times are extremely short at eight to ten weeks.
