Clean, safe, smart
Maximum productivity requires not only precise manufacturing processes, but also the smooth disposal of the resulting waste materials. This is precisely where the new, fully automated disposal solution from Kabelschlepp Hünsborn comes in, which has now been successfully commissioned at the plant of agricultural machinery manufacturer AGCO Fendt in Asbach-Bäumenheim. The intelligent conveyor system ensures a smooth material flow – with minimal personnel requirements and maximum efficiency.
AGCO Fendt produces the sheet metal parts for its tractors and agricultural machinery on a laser blanking system that cuts the material precisely and highly efficiently from a continuous coil. The sheet metal waste generated with each cut must be disposed of reliably and safely without disrupting the production flow – five days a week, around the clock.
"The goal was to create a system that is intelligent and integrates seamlessly into our existing processes," explains Florian Hammel, Project Manager for Strategic Plant and Technology Development at AGCO Fendt. "We wanted to increase productivity, minimize downtime, and simultaneously use our resources more efficiently."
Intelligent waste management with smart details
Kabelschlepp, a reliable partner of AGCO Fendt for years, had the perfect answer. The specialists for guideway protection and conveyor systems (CAPS) designed a fully automated solution for the laser blanking system, which independently and safely transports the sheet metal sections from production to an adjacent container hall, where they are disposed of in two skips with optimized fill levels.
"The conveyor belt with its own control system and the individual containers, which ensure optimal internal and external transport, are key components of the recycling cycle," explains Jörg Kubina, Project Engineer Sales at Kabelschlepp. "In this way, we increase the value of the scrap, making the investment worthwhile."
The interface communication with the laser cutting system also provides Fendt with all the information necessary for its operational data management. Last but not least, the customer benefits from comprehensive project management, including safety concepts, control technology, installation and commissioning, as well as service availability throughout the entire service life of the system.
(Centralized) Disposal of Recyclable Materials
Reducing resource consumption is becoming increasingly important. Scrap is a valuable raw material in the circular economy. Kabelschlepp supplies conveyor systems for the (centralized) disposal of residual materials in operations and for the separation of various materials, which help increase the value of scrap.
