Linear motion solutions for aircraft cabin interiors
Rollon is one of the world's leading suppliers of linear motion technology and has been working with well-known aircraft cabin manufacturers for many years. At the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), which took place in Hamburg from 8 to 10 April 2025, the company presented its extensive portfolio, which offers the highest standards of lightweight construction, load capacity, quality and ergonomics.
Few industries place such high demands on quality, safety, reliability, comfort and lightweight construction as the aerospace industry. As a long-standing partner to the industry, Rollon has extensive expertise in this field and perfectly masters the balancing act between optimal performance, maximum compactness, lowest possible weight, minimal maintenance and best possible comfort. Visitors to this year's Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) will be able to see this for themselves.
Combined expertise for the aviation industry
For three days, everything in Hamburg will revolve around innovations for aircraft cabins. Rollon will be on site with a team and will be presenting robust, long-lasting solutions at Stand 7A29 that offer optimal comfort for passengers and crew in addition to the highest safety requirements and limited installation space. The trade fair highlights include, among other things, an extremely smooth-running tray table solution with outstanding stability and a privacy divider motion system with high rigidity, compact dimensions and quiet running.
The group combines the established brands Rollon, Nadella, Shuton-Ipiranga, Durbal, Chiavette Unificate and Rosa Sistemi under one roof, offering unique development, manufacturing and application expertise. The portfolio includes linear guides, telescopic slides, linear actuators, ball screws and rod ends, and covers a wide range of applications.
Weight-optimised linear technology for aircraft cabin interiors
In the field of aviation, weight is a critical factor. Reducing weight results in decreased fuel consumption, which leads to lower operational costs and reduced emissions. Whether seat, armrest adjustments, adjustable folding tables, head and footrests, sliding doors or room dividers and mobile walls: a great deal can be achieved with the right design, especially when it comes to aircraft interiors design, where many parts are installed hundreds or thousands of times. Rollon's experienced engineers develop weight-optimised and low-maintenance concepts for every application in the aircraft interiors and create solutions that are precisely tailored to customer requirements – whether customer-specific system solutions or completely new products.
Focus on quality, safety and reliability
Rollon is EN 9100 certified and thus meets the highest standards of quality, safety and reliability. Extensive calculations and tests are carried out for each component in order to achieve the highest possible weight reduction without affecting the performance.
Innovations in aircarf cabins
With its E-Smart Aircraft Interiors actuator Rollon was shortlisted for the Crystal Cabin Award 2023, one of the most prestigious awards for innovations in aircraft cabins. This actuator will be showcased on this years booth in the mentioned privacy divider motion system. However, Rollon solutions not only show their strengths in aircraft cabins. Manufacturers of special vehicles and equipment, as well as airport equipment, also benefit from the technical advantages and extensive engineering possibilities.
