Affordable all-rounder

Schmersal's slim AZM150 solenoid interlock now offers even more versatile applications with new accessories, while also being a highly cost-effective safety solution as a complete system.

A new feature is the rear-mounted push-button release, which can be used as an escape release or emergency release. The escape release allows exiting the hazardous area from the inside if a safety door is accidentally closed. The emergency release allows opening the safety door from the outside. The push-button release is available in two versions: the 45 mm version for use with door jambs of 40 mm, for example, which can be mounted using the MP-AZM150-1 mounting plate, and the 170 mm version for use with door jambs of up to 170 mm.

Also new as an accessory for the AZM150 is the Bowden cable release with a total length of 6 m, which enables remote release in inaccessible installation situations. It is used to protect against particularly hazardous situations: If an operator is accidentally locked in a system, a Bowden cable can be used as an escape release. When working outside the danger zone, the Bowden cable serves as an emergency release.

Another advantage for versatility: Rotatable actuator head

Another advantage of the AZM150 guard lock is the rotatable actuator head, which is locked by simply replacing the cover instead of screwing. The 360° rotatable actuator head with its two actuator inlets allows for various mounting positions and approach options. This feature also contributes significantly to the versatility of the AZM 150, which has a locking force of FZh = 1,500 N.

Electromechanical switch with high coding

The AZM150 is an electromechanical safety guard lock with a "high" coding level, thus offering excellent protection against tampering. The advantage for the user: With a high coding level, fewer additional anti-tamper measures are required according to ISO 14119, such as mounting out of reach or in a concealed position.

Cost-effective complete system for smaller machines

With the new accessories, the series is now a complete system that covers a wide range of applications up to PLd/Category 3 and also represents a very cost-effective solution. Following the motto "less is often more," the AZM150 series is ideal for smaller machines and systems or for cost-sensitive applications where a lower performance level is required. At the same time, the compact electromechanical solenoid interlock precisely meets the required safety level – and at a moderate price.
