Large output shafts, high permissible bending moments

The agitator version of SEW-Eurodrive's proven X.e gear unit series expands the product portfolio in the area of ​​application-specific gear units. High permissible forces and bending moments, as well as maximum operational reliability, make the gear unit the ideal solution for all high-performance agitators and mixers. Additional sizes starting at 29.2 kNm have been added to the series since 2024.

Agitator gear units of the X.e series are used wherever high performance is required for stirring and mixing liquid or pasty materials. The series is now available in seven sizes for a torque range from 29.2 kNm to 217 kNm. As a three- or four-stage helical gear unit, the gear ratio range is 20 to 400. The digital twin concept was applied from the very beginning of the design process. This allowed the mechanical components and oil flow to be virtually simulated and optimized. The result is a powerful drive specifically designed for agitator applications.

The application-specific rolling bearing concept with its large bearing spacing and the rigidity-optimized agitator housing enable the absorption of high forces and bending moments, such as those typically encountered in stirring and mixing processes. Depending on the load scenario, three load-specific rolling bearing variants are available for each size. The gearbox also features particularly large output shafts that can withstand high bending moments. The X.e series agitator gearboxes can therefore always be dimensioned to suit the specific application.

For high thermal performance, an optional fan integrated into the motor interface is available. Air baffles on the gearbox housing ensure optimal air flow and thus high cooling performance. This eliminates the need for expensive, external coolers in many cases.

A further feature of the agitator gearbox is its high operational reliability. The gearbox housing is divided horizontally, with the dividing line located at the very top of the housing. It is always above the maximum oil level. This prevents oil from leaking from the sealing surface of the two housing parts. In addition, a fail-safe drywell shaft seal combined with pressure lubrication ensures operational reliability.

The X.e series agitator design combines performance with maximum reliability. This, combined with the flexibility of SEW-Eurodrive's modular motor system, opens up new possibilities for customers in optimizing high-performance agitators and mixers.
