Smart solution for long-term secure data collection
IoTmaxx gateways are used wherever high reliability, data integrity, and operational safety are required under demanding conditions. With its industrial micro SD cards with SMART functionality, the company offers an additional, fail-safe storage option to complement its robust IoT gateways.
IoTmaxx's freely programmable Linux gateways are used, among other things, in Industry 4.0 environments – for example, in M2M communication – to collect and securely transmit system data such as temperature, humidity, pressure, or vibration. The cellular gateways also provide an ideal basis for cloud and software solutions in areas such as critical infrastructure or energy management, particularly in the context of digitalization, automation, or process optimization tasks.
Ideal for demanding applications
The manufacturer's powerful, solution-open gateways enable easy software integration through the use of Docker technology. Custom gateway applications can be programmed either by the customer themselves or as a service provided by IoTmaxx. The challenge: Applications with numerous write cycles – for example, in the areas of edge computing or AI – as well as caching data during unstable network connections can sooner or later push a gateway's flash memory to its limits. For this reason, the company has added another feature to its portfolio and offers all its gateways with an optional industrial microSD card.
Industrial-grade microSD cards with SMART function
Industrial-grade microSD cards are specially developed for use in demanding environments. Their wide temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, their vibration tolerance, and their resistance to moisture ensure high data security and are particularly reliable compared to consumer products.
Thanks to the integrated SMART function (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology), the storage media are particularly fail-safe – which is particularly advantageous for applications with large amounts of data or in remote locations. "Industrial microSD cards are a smart and transparent solution," summarizes Head of Development Ralph Glaser. "Thanks to the integrated smart function, the user always has an overview of the storage device's status – thus, damage, unplanned maintenance, and data loss can be specifically avoided."
