Locking bolts
Stainless steel locking bolts A1 and A4 from Kipp
Stainless steel products are not only a good choice in many areas, they are often the only choice. Kipp has been developing stainless steel components for precisely these demanding applications for many years. The company is currently expanding its portfolio with the new K2194 locking bolt. Available in two material grades.
When it comes to safety, durability, and hygiene, every detail counts. That's why Kipp offers its new locking pins with stainless steel mushroom handles in two material grades: A1 for simple applications and A4 for environments where the component is subject to particularly harsh conditions, such as in the chemical industry, shipbuilding, or outdoor use.
Stainless steel also plays a central role in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in sensitive areas of mechanical and plant engineering. However, it is worth considering alternatives before investing in an expensive premium product. “In mechanical and plant engineering in particular, there is not always a need for elaborately designed hygienic components,” explains Samuel Rasch, Team Leader Product Management at Kipp. “For many applications, simpler stainless steel components are sufficient – provided that the material quality and functionality are right. To ensure the latter, we recommend a detailed check to determine whether the components are located in a critical working area. If this can be ruled out, our new locking pins offer a robust solution that is specifically tailored to the actual requirements.”
The locking bolt is available in a short version with a stainless steel mushroom head in thread sizes M6 to M20 (fine thread) – optionally with an unhardened, hardened, or chemically nickel-plated locking pin. Two versions are available: brightly turned or matt blasted. This means that the bolt not only fits well into existing systems from a technical point of view, but also visually – an advantage in machines with visible components or in areas where cleanliness must also be visually apparent.
In the A4 version, the locking pin is also non-magnetic or only slightly magnetic, which is advantageous for applications in sensitive areas. Another plus: stainless steel is completely recyclable. This makes it a more environmentally friendly option compared to many other materials.
