New for small workpieces

For small components, workpiece carriers measuring 80 x 80 mm are often too large. Therefore, IWB Industrietechnik GmbH in Gotha has expanded its Minitrans conveyor range to include a compact workpiece carrier system measuring 50 x 50 mm.

The new system was specially developed to meet the demanding requirements of modern manufacturing processes. The safe, precise transport of small workpieces is particularly advantageous in series production and automated processes, as cycle times and travel distances depend crucially on the size of the workpiece carriers. The transport system includes deflection units for 90° and 180° turns, as well as stoppers and centering stations for precise workpiece positioning.

The workpiece carriers are made of wear-resistant plastic and can be customized directly to customer requirements by IWB Industrietechnik with its high level of manufacturing expertise. All functional units of the system are designed for time optimization and enable transport speeds between 50 and 300 mm/s. The passive, self-powered deflectors and the conveyor belt based on the Minitrans standard ensure an economical, cost-optimized system design.

The manufacturer also manufactures customized solutions according to customer requirements and has already implemented systems with inclines and declines, among other things. Storage and buffering options can be integrated as further expansion options. Several parallel conveyors connected by curves can buffer up to 300 product carriers, for example, to integrate curing times into continuous production during bonding processes.
