Monitoring
Operate energy storage systems longer and more safely
Energy storage manufacturer Socomec is launching the new version of its SoLive PRO monitoring platform for real-time data visualization of its Sunsys energy storage systems. The tool integrates state-of-the-art battery analysis functions from PowerUp, a company specializing in predictive analysis of lithium-ion batteries, and detects both degradation and safety risks up to nine months in advance.
Precise insights into battery status
Unlike conventional tools, which rely exclusively on raw data from battery management systems, the SoLive PRO algorithms from PowerUp, a company recently acquired by Socomec, provide more accurate and reliable predictive insights into the state of health and state of safety of batteries. This is achieved by the AI-based analysis method taking into account not only theoretical values but also real-time data in its calculations: from irregular load profiles and demanding environments to operational interruptions. This enables the tool to evaluate performance with particular precision and monitor safety accurately, enabling smarter maintenance strategies and earlier fault detection, which leads to a longer battery life.
“With SoLive PRO, we are taking the operational reliability of energy storage systems to a new level,” says Socomecs Marketing Manager Guy Schaaf. He adds: “The presentation at ees Europe was a huge success, and there was a lot of interest in our new solution.”
Designed for real-world conditions
The technology does not require complete charge and discharge cycles. A partial discharge of 30 percent is sufficient to calibrate the analytics. “SoLive PRO from PowerUp is the ideal solution for real-world environments where complete cycles are rare or impractical,” explains Schaaf.
Access is via dashboards. The platform also sends detailed alarm notifications via push email and provides live updates on status changes. Sensitive data is stored on cloud servers in France that are ISO27001 certified and comply with all specific regulations regarding data protection and security.
