Energy chains
Two times all-in-one
As a specialist for automated filling and testing systems in automotive final assembly, SAT Anlagentechnik GmbH, based in Dägeling, Germany, is benefiting from the current shift toward electromobility. SAT Anlagentechnik brought Tsubaki Kabelschlepp on board to ensure the rapid implementation of a demanding major order. The energy chain experts supplied 24 pre-assembled Totaltrax systems for a total of eight Movable Combi filling systems.
SAT Anlagentechnik's customized systems fill vehicles with liquid and gaseous media as part of the production process – in compliance with the highest quality and process standards. The "Combi" in the product name means that all media can be filled with just one system. This system follows the production line – thus being "movable" – and completes the filling step by step in several cycles.
These customized all-in-one systems place high demands not only on production at SAT Anlagentechnik, but also on all suppliers. For a major overseas project, the energy and cable routing system was to be delivered as a complete, ready-to-install system – a challenge that Tsubaki Kabelschlepp gladly accepted. The Totaltrax specialists not only handled the design, assembly, and testing of the energy chain systems, but also took care of all the documentation and suitable transport packaging for shipping. Due to their size, the filling systems and Totaltrax systems were separated after a functional test in Germany and shipped in multiple units. This required the individual components to be easily and quickly reconnected at their destination.
Totaltrax: A Huge Modular System Without Material Dogma
When configuring its customer-specific Totaltrax systems, Tsubaki Kabelschlepp generally draws on all of its energy chain series and components. Accordingly, a huge modular system is available, from which an optimal solution can be quickly generated for every requirement.
The filling systems at SAT Anlagentechnik use three energy chains from the Uniflex Advanced 1995 series. They are characterized by their versatility in this application. The complete Totaltrax systems vary in detail and include, in addition to the chains, pre-assembled cables and media hoses, as well as complete guide channels.
"Our corporate philosophy and that of Tsubaki Kabelschlepp have strong parallels," explains Christian Chmiel-Hill, authorized signatory and Head of Supply Chain Management at SAT Anlagentechnik. "Both companies are specialists in designing customer-specific solutions and can implement them with a high degree of flexibility. This prerequisite led to an extremely positive collaboration and the successful implementation of the project."
