A Low Harmonics drive system minimizes harmonics in the power grid – and improves grid quality and energy efficiency.

Our Clean Power drives – like the SINAMICS G220 Clean Power – with an integrated two-quadrant active front end realize a total harmonic distortion in current of under 2% and negligible reactive power. The entire grid and connected equipment benefit from optimal power quality and operating conditions, which results in reduced energy losses and greater reliability. They also comply with the most stringent harmonic standards, including EN/IEC 61000-3-12 and IEEE 519. The innovative control function in the drive uses the difference in the required voltage to adjust the magnetic flux. It is activated effortlessly via the drives' engineering.

The ECO Mode function slightly changes the magnetic flux of the motor and reduces the output voltage to improve the operating point with the minimum input power. This function is especially appropriate for machines with a lower torque and lower dynamic power that do not require high motor torque over the entire operating range. Reduce motor losses at partial load and the motor's associated heat losses. Simply activate ECO Mode in the frequency converter menu. In case of load changes, you can easily switch back to dynamic control.
