Developed with and for users
The Weidmüller online configurator was created in close collaboration with users from industry and practical applications. The goal of its development was to create a digital tool that addresses real-world challenges in everyday planning and engineering – intuitively, efficiently, and practically. "Our aim was to develop a tool that not only impresses in theory but also offers tangible added value in daily use," explains Andrés Lavid de las Heras, Product Manager at Weidmüller.
End-to-end digital processes and flexible assembly
From planning and configuration to manufacturing, the new configurator ensures a seamless digital data chain. DIN rail configurations can be created directly in any browser, saved in the cloud, and shared via link – anytime, anywhere. As a fully web-based tool, the configurator can be used on any device with internet access, be it a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It can be operated either via touchscreen or traditionally with a mouse and keyboard. Existing configurations from the familiar Weidmüller Configurator (WMC) can also be transferred directly via cloud upload, ensuring a seamless transition and continuous workflow. This reduces media breaks, minimizes errors, and saves time.
A key feature of the new online Weidmüller Configurator is the integrated assembly assistant. It guides users step-by-step through the selection and placement of components, enabling simple and safe assembly, even without in-depth electrical engineering expertise. This reduces the reliance on highly qualified personnel, which is particularly relevant given the increasing shortage of skilled workers in the industry.
Furthermore, the configurator offers the option of ordering terminal blocks fully assembled and ready for installation from Weidmüller. Configured terminal blocks can be requested directly online via the Fast Delivery Service (FDS). With the creation of customized quotes, assembly planning is completed in a very short time, enabling fast, flexible, and efficient handling of assembly processes.

The new configurator significantly simplifies the configuration of mounting rails. Intelligent optimization functions automatically optimize the available installation space on the mounting rail, without requiring in-depth product knowledge. Connection technologies can be switched to production-efficient variants such as PUSH IN or SNAP IN with a single click. This reduces assembly times, lowers costs, and ensures consistently streamlined planning and production. Control cabinet construction thus becomes simpler, faster, and more economical.

Furthermore, the new online Weidmüller Configurator demonstrates how digital solutions make processes in control cabinet construction more efficient and relieve the workload of skilled personnel. The combination of intuitive operation, intelligent automation, and continuous data availability makes the tool an important instrument for process optimization in modern production processes.
The solution is part of a practical, comprehensive solution from Weidmüller: The M-Print PRO software enables efficient labeling, while the Wire Processing Center (WPC) supports semi-automated cable assembly, and the Labeling Processing Center (LPC) handles automatic component labeling. These components support the entire process chain, from planning and configuration to manufacturing. They work seamlessly together, ensuring maximum efficiency in control cabinet construction.
